Body moulding color
I can't seem to find anybody asking this question in a search , so I'll ask. I have a 68 gmc with the lower trim, and mine is red in the middle( and I've only seen maybe 2 others like this) . Most of the ones i have seen are black in the middle. Does anybody know why some are red and some are black?

Re: Body moulding color
The trim with the red color is for GMC trucks. The trim with the black color is for Chevrolet trucks. I just recently learned this from the forum.
Do you have any pictures that you can show? I would love to see em. Keith |

Re: Body moulding color
I saw a white GMC suburban for sale once that had red lower trim. I assumed someone had gone crazy with a rattle can but now maybe it was original? Only one I've ever seen that wasn't black or woodgrain. I guess I learned su'm too!
If someone has pix and documentation of an original with red or white trim I'd love to see it.

Re: Body moulding color
So now after I bought all NOS black striped trim for my 67 GMC I read this. Oh well, black looks better and my theme for my truck is "Period correct upgrades"

Re: Body moulding color
I was just considering accenting my trim in red. Now I know I am! It's cool, like how they did in the '60s with cars and the earlier trucks. Mine gets a red interior,so...
