Nothing at all, going to Goodguys at Texas Motor Speedway ! Almost missed though due to unscheduled trip to ER yesterday for a kidney stone. Almost ruined my weekend.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?
Went to the paint shop and looked at the progress. Came home and ordered a few shiney goodies. Bumpers, grille, mirror... etc.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?
Finally got it running and took it for a test drive. It crapped out 4 miles into the drive. I troubleshot it and ended up changing the coil on the side of the road. I then drove it home, parked it and now I'm shopping for an HEI.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?
Went to a local car show today.
Feels good when the judges compliment you on all the work, labor & fabrication done on ya truck Sometimes theres more than just a pretty paint job and chrome. It was strange...they didn't have a Poe/Street class. The lady laughed when she read the class section of the registration form. Sir I think you spelled this wrong. I always bring my Fart Machine to the car shows/crusins and hide under the seat. So when people bend over to look inside.... Baaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrpppppppp!

What kind of wood did you use for your bed floor? Wood preparartions? I know some people don't like the nots etc shoeing but I think it gives it character.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?
XtechX, it's 3/4" hickory. For prep, not a whole lot, except for sanding... and more sanding. From 120 grit to 800 grit, then 10 coats of urethane brushed on. For the knots, I used a clear acrylic that you can buy as a powder mix. It's the same sort of stuff that a bar would use to make their counters/bars smooth. I agree, the knots give it character. There's a particularly large knot, that I filled, and my wife mentioned (after I'd filled it) that I should've suspended something in it, like a skull, or a small Transformer!

I replaced my fuel tank sending unit. Removed the old tore up visors and replaced them with some new, albeit cheap ones, that came in a box with the truck. Also sandblasted the rear license plate lamp bracket to get it ready for paint.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?
Flat towed my truck up to my garage from my friends farm so i can start getting busy! I purchased a few cab braces and thats on list as well as trying to get the old girl running. I also confirmed today the engine is a power pack 283 from a 57 chevy...a nice surprise which will makes my little hot rod truck! She coughed and farted a bit after I cleaned the points but I ran out of battery power so hopefully this week I can bet it running and put a plan together. Winter is near so I have get a move on!
