Found my dads big block for my 68!!

Just had to share this. I`m totally jacked. My dad had a 75 gmc sierra
classic 1/2 ton, had since 77. It was the one that was white with red and
blue vertical stripes down the whole side, and the two on each side of the hood. Was labeled UNION JACK on the side. Similar to the spirit of 76 and the gentelman jim i believe. Anyway, alot of history with this truck. My brother
burned the tires off of it several times, I ROLLED it when I was 15 back in
1982 this month a week before 16th birthday. ( Didnt get licence for a while).
Ha. My dad and i got the parts and rebuilt it together, cab still had a slight
crease. Sooo 4 years back, 1 stroke later and confined to a wheel chair,
truck body in rough shape, we let it go to the local scrapper for bill money.
Ran into him monday and somehow it just came up that he still had it!!!
I was sick the day it left thinking someday i would like to at least get the motor. Told a buddy of mine at work about it and he told me i`m an idiot
if i dont go get it. Thats all i`ve been talking about is a BB in my 68. And now
for $400, I have a totally UNmolested 454, never had a valve cover off, still
in the truck. And its a part of my dad that can carry on in my project 68
almost 29 years to the day when it was almost a phone call away from the scrapper...

Great story. Maybe grab something else off the truck you can hang on a wall, like the glovebox emblem or something.

I`ve still got the 454 emblem that came out of the grill when it was wrecked.
