72 GMC single lamp dual beam headlights
Does anyone know of a headlight that will fit and offers both high and low beam? I want to build a cold air intake that will use the inner or high beam location of my headlights. (similar to the ford thun
 derbolt). Thank you.

your low beam is a dual element bulb and will work as you are wanting it to but with reduced light output on the road. chev used a two single 7 1/4in duel element bulbs and gm used the four bulbs in a 5 1/4 in

You can get small diameter dual filament bulbs form European suppliers. Cibie makes them, and Hella probably does, too. Make sure you get right hand drive ones! The reflectors internally are different for L or R hand drive. I've seen this come up with guys who have WWII MB jeeps who are looking for 12v lights. You also may be able to find some motorcycle lights which is what my MB has in it.

Cool. Been wondering if bike lights would work. The web kept sending me to motorcycle sites when I was looking for lights. Seems some Harley lamps may work, but I won't pay for that name on a light anytime soon, lol

Thanks, Stocker. A buddy of mine was suggesting going with a bulbless lamp and using an HID system for max lighting. This looks as if it will do the trick. Awesome!

Looking at that link, it appears to be a sealed-beam lamp. Not what I had in mind (sorry) -- I didn't think Hella even made those....
That site does carry E-code lamps, though, and that's what I would choose over sealed-beam any day. This looks like the right ones: http://www.rallylights.com/detail.aspx?ID=733 I have not found a need for higher-wattage (and more costly) bulbs. The 5006A - 60/55W Hella bulbs (H4) work very well. You could call 'em for more info.... I've dealt with them before, they're very helpful. If you want a true bi-xenon HID, I think you'll end up paying quite a bit more. That's something I've never really looked into, though.
