bedside skins
are bedside(fleetside) outer skins reproduced? Not the whole bedside, but just the outer skin.

Re: bedside skins
He is asking if just the outer bedskin is reproduced, that is the complete bedside.

Re: bedside skins
do you have any pictures? Sounds like it would have to be welded together? When you said two piece, I was thinking the outer skin as one piece, and the inner skin as the second piece.

Re: bedside skins
take the outer skin and cut it in half right at the top of the wheel arch. thats where the weld seam is.

Re: bedside skins
Why would you do this? You would have more money in parts, time, and body supplies this way then just buying a bed side???? Just wondering

Re: bedside skins
No. we just weld in the fillers from Infinati. the panels are $135.00 each. so its 270.00 PER SIDE. Like Tim says you would be better off time and money replacing the side. We are set up to do this kind of stuff so its easy for us. but if it was my truck i would use the complete sides. The repros are a good part. I am one of those wierdos who like working with sheetmetal so cost is not always the driving factor. You could maybe drive down to Top Banana and pick them up
JFI when we ship bedsides to germany we have to cut them in half anyway to comply with their laws so the two piece panels make sense. These guys don't mind welding them. |

Re: bedside skins
I am going to make a custom bed, dont need the inner skin at all. I will be fabricating that. So I either disassemble my bedsides and repair the rust areas on the bottom of the outer skin, or just source rust free outer skins. So at this point, my options are weld the two piece skin together which I don't want to do, buy new bedsides and disassemble those, or work with what I have. Lately I've been working with what I have and swearing at my self in the process for doing so

Re: bedside skins
Ok I understand now. I did not realize you did not need inners at all. Mike should be able to take care of you with his panels. If you have to weld two together the marker hole will be a breze to fill.
