Where exactly is the frame vin

Always known it was there but didnt know where at it was located, if I change out cabs how hard of a time will i have at the title office getting the title work done

I found my frame vin under the hood driver side top of frame towards the front think its just 8 numbers matching the last 8 of the cab vin

Under the drivers seat on the top frame and on the front driver frame rail up by the steering gear...

This will vary from state to state. Best to check with your local dmv.

Cleaned up that spot on the frame, found it, havnt compared it to the cab yet but thats on my list of "to do's" lol

my 72 burb has nothing there eitherr, but all the other trucks I've had did have it there. The photo I posted was me pointing to the partial VIN on my old 69 GMC C/1500. My C/30 has it, my old '70 C/20 had it, as did the '71 C/20 part truck I had.

I spent about 45 minutes using a mirror and light; Scrapped all up and down the frame area below the cab, yes on top of the frame, and no sign of any numbers. Or my eyes are going?! It's an all original truck. Even checked under passenger side just in case. Nothing either. Not the end of the world...
