Oil Pressure Gauge Maxing Out.
My oil pressure gauge has maxed out since I bought the truck. Gauge at zero, after ignition goes all the way up and stays up. I know my oil levels are good. Do you think it's the gauge or do I need a new sending unit?

Re: Oil Pressure Gauge Maxing Out.
Is it mechanical (up to 1977) or electrical?

Re: Oil Pressure Gauge Maxing Out.
Yep definitely the oil pressure switch, just replaced mine, 10 bucks, now the gauge is working good again. have to have the socket to replace it though, which is generally more expensive than the part itself. i bought it and returned it ha'

Re: Oil Pressure Gauge Maxing Out.
Mine did the same thing, and replacing the oil pressure sender unit fixed it. I didn't need any special tools; just an adjustable wrench.
