where does the gas tank go???
i am putting a suburban gas tank into my 67 long fleetside. i was just wondering whrere the tank straps connect onto the chassis and where the actual tank is supposed to be fitted. i would have used the search function, but it has been disabled for quite a while?? does anybody know when it is going to be up and running again?? anyways, any help and pictures would be greatly appreciated.

crossmembers
I made new cross members for my tank and skid plate. The skidplate actually helps to hold the 33 gallon tank up. Don't know if you can tell by this picture.

Mudder67,
If I'm seeing things correctly, you located your Suburban tank at the end of the frame rails? How did you route the filler neck for this location? 72longbed |

its in the very back of my bed and I'm using a boat filler so its flat with the floor. I have seen others that work well. Remember I do have a body lift under my bed of about 2 1/2 inches.

Lots of ways
to run a filler. Stano ran his into a door on the bedside.......looked really good.........here's a street rodder truck fill that is a local truck. This one you can put gas in without taking the cap off.
