C-notch without a flip kit - anyone?

Is anyone using a C-notch kit on their truck without a flip kit on the axel? Including a shackel and hanger 4" drop too?
I'm deciding if I need to purchase a flip kit. Currently I have a shackel/hanger combo installed for about 4". Since I'll be adding a 1.5 coil to the 2.5 spindal in the front I want to keep the truck level. So I need at least a 5-6 drop in the rear. I have 4" lowering springs plus the shackel/hanger combo on the truck now. Plan is to notch the frame add the leaf springs and raise the rear shackel for about a 5-6 drop.
Oh, BellTech C-notch kit in the mail!! All I need now is the poly set to complete the full suspension job.

Mike, I was looking at your c-notch kit installation. Even adding the weight of the bed, it looks like there is enough travel without the flip kit. Does it look possible?

I have a bell tech flip kit on ebay right now.

Belltech told me a Blazer doesn't need a c notch to be flipped. They recomend the truck get a notch though. My auction is for the flip kit only.....

How do you have 4" leafs and a shackle hanger combo on it now? This would give you 8", right? When I had the 4" leafs on and a shackle, with stock hangers, it was around 5" of drop.

Anyway, after going to a full 6" of drop, I had 2-3/4" left from top of axle to frame. Not enough. It would hit on big dips.

I have a shackel/hanger with stock springs on now. Sitting in the garage are 4"drop leafsprings. My idea is to notch the frame add the 4" leafs then take the shackel up one bolt hole. How close will that be to needing a flip kit? I prefer not to install one since I would like to keep the traction bars too.
Mike what is the measurement from the center of rear wheel to the wheel well?

Let's say if you move the shackle to the shortest hole on a shackle and hanger kit, it would be in the 3" drop range. If you add 4" leafs, this should be around 7".

With a flip, it varies, depending on what hole in the shackle you use. Anywhere from 5" with stock shackle, up around to 8" with the upper hole in the drop shackle.

My truck measures 13" from wheel center to fenderwell lip on the rear and 14-3/4" on the front. This puts it level since there is around 1-3/4" difference in fenderwell height.
