Seat belt question.
I have a 94 that the seat belts are pretty dirty from all the years of using the truck as a work truck. Now I am redoing the inside and would like to know if I can take the truck to the dealer to get the straps replaced with new ones, or what are my options to replace the seat belts? Thanks

I called our local dealership and they do not replace the seatbelt straps or cannont order new units due to them being discontinued. I guess I will take them out of the truck and unreal them as far as I can and soak them in detergent and then clean them with a nylon brush. After they get clean I will soak them in some black dye. I think that should work.

before you dye them, make sure the dye is for the meterial strap it is. (I think they're nylon)? after you dye them and they dry wash them as best you can. dye again and wash again. this will give the best color and the dye wont rub off on your clothes as you drive.

I've actually heard bad things about soaking belts in detergents. Something about breaking down the fibers. I would do some more research first.

Your local fabric/sewing shop they should sell all kinds of dyes. They'll point you in the right direction I've never done belts but I did my carpet, that was a learning experience
