ebay phantom grills.. anyone have experience with them?

Just as the title asks.. i was looking at getting a fullface phantom grill for my 82. Just wondering how well they fit and look? Figured for 100 bucks shipped id give it a try.

Also the stock grill sits flush with the fenders and that little chrome trim around the edge... guessing all the stock grill and head light surrounds need to be removed completely?

I had one off those on my truck, they are OK, and with that I mean you you get what you pay for.
The original grill and headlight bezels have to be removed.
The phantom grill will sit proud of the headlights and flush with the chrome surround trim.
I found with mine that the mounting holes had to be reamed bigger.

Best of luck

I have one on my 81 currently, it all screwed in perfect up top, had to drill two holes to attatch the bottom but thats due to 81-82 being slightly different. The fit was good as was the quality.

Well if i only have to drill a few holes im fine with that... since my trucks an 82. I also plan to move the turn signals up behind the grill and then put an extra set of driving lights in the stock bumper holes.

A buddy of mine has one on his 86 K10 and he's pleased with it.

Yeah it kill's me to look at it....I wish my 79 looked HALF as good as that truck. I watched him do the whole build on it too....its a well known mascot for his local accessory shop Rocky's Tuff Trucks.

Here's a link to the photo album of the rest of the truck....not sure if its set to private or not since it's his shop's FB account.
