Re: Cracked Frame ( Brackets and Reinforcements Needed )
I seen one cracked right there and it was from a bad front end colision. Maybe the frame was straightened and wasnt repaired correctly? I would be looking for a frame personally.

Re: Cracked Frame ( Brackets and Reinforcements Needed )
are you a good welder? do you have a nice 220V machine? Easiest thing to do is take it to a frame shop, have them check to see if the frame is twisted, bent or diamonded in anyway... if it is they straiten it, and ya weld the crack up solidly. Those few booger welds sitting on top the metal is not a solid weld in any shape or form.

You can drill a hole at the end of the crack to stop the crack... then weld the hell out of it with a plate!

Re: Cracked Frame ( Brackets and Reinforcements Needed )
I'd grind all that old garbage booger weld off of there and beat that frame back into shape there and weld it up nice. Does the truck drive straight? look like everything's in decent alignment?

Re: Cracked Frame ( Brackets and Reinforcements Needed )
My guess is the frame rail was knocked way over from a wreck. and someone pulled it back straight.

Re: Cracked Frame ( Brackets and Reinforcements Needed )
take a monkey wrench to it cut a gash into it that goes straight through and is about 1/8 of an inch clamp backing plate and do a good long slow weld

Re: Cracked Frame ( Brackets and Reinforcements Needed )
Thats repairable. Dont frame swap for that. Easy to straighten, then weld fishplate on. There are a whole lot of 50's trucks out there with camaro clips welded on. Speaking of fish hows the mullet festival this year? Damn i miss that gulf coast cookin.

Re: Cracked Frame ( Brackets and Reinforcements Needed )
You need to stop-drill that better than what's there right now. The hole that's there looks like the crack is already past it. But then clean up all the old crap, bend everything back to where it's supposed to be, and weld the crack shut. Then weld a plate on both sides of it to re-inforce it.
Oh, and "Hi" from about 30 miles south of you.

Good work. Looks much better and is no doubt safer now.
