Cleaning primer paint
Hello,
I am wondering how to go about cleaning oil spots out of primer. The paint is riddled with oil spots from a PSP line blowing and a tranny oil cooling line. Plus, some hand prints of my own. I tried engine degreaser at a car wash, that did not work. I'd like to get this cleaned up . Thanks in advance.

Sand it and primer it again primer is like a sponge it will suck up anything like oil.

have to agree,, 300 grit and new primer.. that stuff is designed to adsorb anything and never let it go..
the oil and the primer are now chemically bonded |

What kind of primer? Epoxy vs. Krylon may have vastly different answers.

On a previous vehicle I used Soft Scrub (a kitchen and bath cleaner) and a hard type sponge.

Im going to geton the sand and re prime bandwagon.. i have some oil on mine where its primed and the body shop is doing just that

Well, if sand and re-prime is what it will take, then the spots may never go away. I don't know anything about paint and body work. It'll get fixed when it is ready for final paint job.

Primer is to help the paint stick to the metal so it sucks up anything that touches it.
