Re: Project: "No time"
I painted, sanded & repainted the motor a few times and it looks good now. I purchased some 2 1/2" corvette style manifolds (w/o alt bracket mounts) off ebay, but will need to go with the original style as I can't figure out how to mount the alternator now. Next up is a carb & valve covers.
The rear end was suppose to be done this week, but they said they needed to send the axles out so I won't have them tell next week. And I don't want to have two cars torn apart in the garage! Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: Project: "No time"
Guess I'll bring this one back from the dead since I just blew the rear end apart
I ordered a new set of wheels finally (Intro 22x8.5 f 22x12 r). I'm going to drop the rear end off to get it shortened 5" and cleaning up the rear frame now. I plan on running a 6/8" drop with my current CPP setup & swap out Hotchkis springs. I will remove front and rear fenders & notch the bed floor and run it like that for now. Should look like the one in the pic (but with 22's rear not 24's). |

Re: Project: "No time"
Glad to see you back.
What size tire are you running on those 22x12's?

Re: Project: "No time"
I think I'm going with 305/35-22 (30.4 dia 12.01 wide 4.2 sidewall). It puts me about the same as the 285/35-22 tire I ran on a 10" wide rim. I'll prob go with a 255/30-22 front with a dia of 28" (puts me 1in taller than the 255/35-20 I ran before).

Re: Project: "No time"
I sold it & ended up buying it back from the guy last year. Out of all my toys, the 67 was my favorite!

Re: Project: "No time"
Nice to see you got this truck back. I love the plans you have for it. Are those Intros on the White truck you posted a picture of the same ones you went with?

Re: Project: "No time"
Yes, this is my last old school project (I swear) & I plan I keeping this one. I'm just going to take it nice and slow on this one. I figure I will do some mods every year, keep her on the road and eventually things will come together.
The wheels are the same as the pic (but with 22's in the back). They will take about 4 weeks & Intro said will have an 8" lip in the back. These have always been my fav so I won't get tired of them! I have everything figured out on the back except what to do with the bed. I can cut the steel bed up and run like that for now or pull it apart & install all the wood bed stuff (without the wood). If I pull the steel floor I can sell it before I cut it up, but if I put the wood setup in I will be running around with the whole back open for awhile. |

Re: Project: "No time"
Four weeks turned into four months on the wheels. Now just need to start putting everything back together!
Running 312/25-22 & 255/30-22 (not alot of options for 22x12's) |

Re: Project: "No time"
Those wheels look great! Glad to see you didn't have the problems I had with mounting tires! I'm thinking I may have to go back to Intro for wheels if I want to try billets again!

Re: Project: "No time"
They prob have it fixed now. I'd say ask for a discount & try them again. I can't see Billet Specailties not resolving an issue with their bread-n-butter. Maybe give them another month just to make sure though!

Re: Project: "No time"
I have a little over 2" clearance with the front stock wheel wells. I'll either lower it another inch with Hotchkis springs or go with bags.
