Check out what I picked up today!

My little helper ( my 4 year old son Buck ) and I went out and picked up some good parts. I got a set of 72 blazer buckets, a pair of very nice 72 black door panels that have no scars or extra holes just a little faded and dirty, near perfect glovebox door, a set of front blazer black seat belts, the tailgate, and a partial white seatbelt console with a perfect bottom. All for $120. The guy was great to deal with. It was a little over an hour away from our house but worth the road trip for some father/son wrenching. The seats are going towards my project, not sure about everything else.

Re: Check out what I picked up today!

Thanks, he had another pair of buckets that I should have bought but I wasn't sure on the year. I was guessing 73 and up. But how did passenger side on those flip foward. It looked similar to the ones that I got out of the 72 but the rubber pad that rests on the floor that is closest to the passenger side door on the back of the seat was at an angle instead of flat to the floor. It was made that way, not bent.

Oh man! What a score!

I see a jacket and gloves. Is it allready getting cold in Iowa?

That's pretty neat you are able to take your son along with you. I bet he enjoyed checking out everything!

It was almost 60 degrees when we left home, but by the time we got there it was around 40 or so and very windy. Buck had a great time. The house was out in the country and they had a lot of barn cats that he got to pet. Plus he climbed all over the Blazer as I was getting the parts unbolted. My grandma said there were alot of car shows in Denton the last week. Did you go to any?

I' m having him send me some detailed pics of the other seats because now I think they are 71/72 seats but just had some recovering done. I will gladly drive 100 miles again to get them for $50.

There was a show put on be the Pistons and Paint club. It usually draws some interesting rides that are mostly customs, pin striped, and/or rockabilly type rides. I have missed it for the last 2 years b/c of work. Dang!

There are usually quite a few small shows put on be the city, or a high school, or even quite a few at local businesses most notably Sonic and Hooters! I actually see old lot of the same rides over and over but most of them are very tastefully done or are very nicely done.

I'm bringing my striping paints and brushes down to Texas for Christmas to do a little striping on my uncles rock crawler. If your interested I can do a little on your truck. I'm not a pro but have been doing it for a while. I would do it for free just for some more practice on vehicles. My avitar was lettered by me and if you want to see more I will post some more pics.
