78 rearend in 67
Can a 78 rearend fit in a 67? Do I have to alter it to make it fit if i want run 22 in the rear and lay frame

assuming your 67 is a leaf spring truck no. the leafs are wider in 73 up rears, so it wont just bolt right in. why you want the 78 rear? just curious

I wanted to change the bolt pattern from 6 to 5. I got the 78 12 bolt for almost free. I don't have a bed on my truck yet so I'm not sure how big i can go in the rear. I welded in a stepnotch and tacked in PB four link

well if you doing all them mods......sure. the 78 12 bolt will have the same track width as a discs brake conversion. you should be good to go.

You can install the 78 rearend and have no problem with it matching up with the leaf springs but you will have to move the shock mounts. I put a complete 1974 Chevy 1/2 suspension under my 67 gmc. It isn't a hard to do at all, just alot of motivation.

rear end is fitting fine, no clue still on what size tire I can run. 22 is the goal in the rear with 20s up front

I have a 1965 gmc 10 bolt 6 lug that im taking out and got a 77" c10 12 bolt 5 lug rear end
its my first swap , what should I be looking for?? or pay attention to wen im swapping it out, iam I going to have to modifie anything ? Do I use the original leaf springs from the 65" on it or the ones from the 77"??? Posted via Mobile Device |

Whats the best choices I wanna run 15" steelies on my truck 65' gmc long bed step side.. Rim ls and tires I want a mean agressive look on them
