Two Ks in BBQ
Yesterday was a rainy day, though warm for December (coulda been snow). I had some mostly inside work but really had a hankerin' for some BBQ for lunch. I hadn't talked to fellow member Olblue60 for a while and gave him a call. Where I'm working is down closer to him and even nearer to a place called Urban BBQ where his friend manages & tends bar. I got a hold of Olblue and he was actually just coming back from up my way,and we decided to meet up. I was in my '72 K2500 and he was in his '68 K/20,so I thought I took the opportunity for a photo shoot. Just two good ole 3/4t 4wd daily drivers sittin' outside a BBQ joint on a dreery December day. I guess you could say it was a mini board meet, right?

Re: Two Ks in BBQ
Nothing like getting BBQ with a buddy. Did he trade front clips on that truck or put the '69-'72 trim on his pickup?

Re: Two Ks in BBQ
I didn't quote all the replies but I sure appreciate them all
Quote:
That's awful tough duty for your K. But it prolly ran better after wiffin' that BBQ all day. Dan works Mon-Fri till 5. Just make sure you're with Olblue60. Those two have known each other since they were 4,so he'll make it worth the trip! I feel the same when I see what others on this site are doing around this country. Like the other day,I wish I was there to help get you away from that water tank. That looked like FUN!! Quote:
I thought that was neat, too. It's like the Hot Dogs,Apple Pie,and Chevrolet thing (or was it Baseball in there somewhere?...McDonalds?),only BBQ,Beer, and Chevrolet (I mean GMC ). I like the Ford Explorer hood (early '70s truck) hanging on the wall, too. No comment

Re: Two Ks in BBQ
Driven and worked. He had just hauled some body parts for his Panel up to the body shop and I had just unloaded 16' 2x2s off the rack at my job. I have been restoring,customizing,modifying,and/or just fixing up these trucks real pretty for a long time. But,now that about all you see are garage queens I'm kinda going the other way. Something about just a good old truck to drive around is a great feeling. I hope to make this one nice,of course, one day. In the mean time I just use it,which I'll still do once that happens. I've always treated my trucks with care no matter the age or condition.
Yeah Bill, that's just what you need. One just like that. Man,I'm gettin' a hankerin' for more BBQ
