There is a guy here in Lodi with a duramax in a 72 chevelle. Crazy fast and it sounds like a truck when idling. Weird but wayyyy cool.

That would be cool to meet, im kinda new hear and havent met any other c10 owners. also, I heard that gateway might be opening back up. I wonder if thats true or not.

Jesse,the Duramax came out in '01. 88-93 has 6.2 naturally aspired diesel and late-92 single cab 8,600 GVW+ - 2000 got the 6.5TD.

A duramax swap is not that expensive when you compare it to some crate swaps. you can get a very low mileage LB7 with the allison and the computer and harness to run it all for around 6-7k the hardest part is boxing the front of the frame to better support the weight moving the motor mounts back to allow for better weight proportion front to rear and then modifying the firewall and tunnel to clear it.... modifying the firewall and and tunnel is what kept me from doing this as I am not as proficient with major body work changes like this.
