Think I finely have the right tire size combo!!!

Hey guys I know that I have beat this horse to death but I think that I am finely satisfied with my tire size combo, YEA!!!! To recap I have 3 inch drop springs and 2 1/2 inch drop spindles in front and a 5 inch flip kit with 2 inch drop shackles in the back with a C notch and now riding on 215/70/15's on a 7 inch ralley in front and 275/60/15's on a 8 inch ralley in the rear.Well what do you all think? Does the tire combo and stance look right? Well my Wife really likes the "look" so it has to be right! Thanks everyone for your thoughts, Robert

Re: Think I finely have the right tire size combo!!!

I like it. Matter of fact I like it so much I'm stealing your information on your drop specs so I can do the same to mine, but long bed.

As for the combo, I think it looks really good. Front tires seem to look like they fill the fender area in quite well. The rear, my personal opinion I would go a little fatter beings it's a step side. Fatter tire fill in the space. But I do as well like the small tire's too. Overall great choices on tire size. Good luck with whatever is next.

Hey Robert, truck looks really good! Glad those 7" ralleys worked out for you.
I have the same setup on mine now only I went with 205/70R/15's on the front, can't wait to finish it up.
What size (depth) trim rings are you running on the front?

Re: Think I finely have the right tire size combo!!!

If you loaded the back with 10 bags of QuickCrete, would it rub the tires? Didn't you C Notch this truck? How close are you to the lip of the rear fenders? I would have done 255/70 or 285/70 (hard to find now-a-days) and tucked it a little more (?) .. just saying..

But it looks awesome as it is! Great job man.

Re: Think I finely have the right tire size combo!!!

Looks good man. It took me a little while to get the right tire combo as well. I have 8" rally's all the way around with 245/60 up front and the 255/70 out back with a 4/6 drop. I'll post pics when I get to work so you can see. But for your truck I think the tire combo is perfect

Re: Think I finely have the right tire size combo!!!

To clarify -- just 'cause I didn't mean it like my comments may have sounded.

I think the truck looks great. You have made some awesome change to it. I have been watching your posts for a while now. What I said on the 255/70 is just thinking out loud. I have 275/60 on a set of rollers at the house (they've seen better days) and 255/70 on my truck for rollers now and there's really not a whole lot of difference. Its just what you want, a little wider, or a little taller but we're talking about .25" maybe (?)

I'd leave it man. Drive it, enjoy it, and be proud of it. You can't get it any closer than that. Great looking truck.

Hey, I think the real key to your satisfaction happened when your wife said she liked it. That doesn't happen very often at my house.....

Hello Keith thanks for all the help with the truck, I have new front and rear bumpers in the box just have not put on yet I have decided to pull the motor and paint and chrome it out, was afraid I would scratch it plus I am getting ready to paint the truck next month so I was not going to put it back on till then, Robert

Hey Brad the wheels worked out great and I added a newer model I think 2000 GMC 3/4 ton van center cap to them and they look great! As far as the trim ring goes right off hand I am not sure I would have to measure tomorrow but I will let you know. Thanks again for the wheels they worked out great, Robert

Re: Think I finely have the right tire size combo!!!

It sits real nice! At the moment mine is 3/5. I used 255/60s in the front and 255/70s in the rear. I noticed that with staggereds its better to use a 1" rake than a 2" leveling. Mine would be better with some spindles in the front to close the fender gap. With my current tire/wheel setup Id like to see 5"-5.5"/6" drop. That is my opinion though.

Yes I did C notch the frame and about the back fenders they are I guess a inch from the sidewall close but they will clear the back fenders just fine with a heavy load. I went to a local tire shop and looked at the 255/60 15's first and could not make my mind up so the owner put one of each a 275/60 and a 255/60 and let me take them home and put them on the truck to see how they looked and then swap out one tire and get the one I liked, just can't get service like that everywhere anymore! The smaller tire just didn't look right to me didn't fill out the fender well to suit me. Here is a picture of the 255's. Just liked the 275/60 tire better, Robert

275/60's look better on the back.
Good work and determination on getting the stance you want.
You are going all out on this truck.

Also,... Welcome to the 15x7 6-lug ralley wheel club!
