New to board

Hi everybody. New to the board here. Just wanting to share some pictures and say hi. I did a Jeep project a couple of years ago and that found boards like these are INVALUABLE in the amount of information one can gain. I have a 1972 longbed 4 x 4 that is going to be my daily driver, so I'm sure I'll be asking lots of questions. I've loaded a couple of albums if anyone's interested in looking at some pictures.

Welcome aboard! We can always use another from the wild west where trucks don't rust. It just kills me!

Welcome from SoCal!
Glad to see another 4x4 here as well.

I had family in your town for years, and in my early days the family and burb made it's way there every year.

Re: New to board

I put a couple of albums on my 'page'. I will post more specific pics as I have time and questions. Looking forward to a great project! Currently, I'm bodywork mode. Bed is off, fenders off, basically only the cab on the truck. Fun, fun - I guess...

Re: New to board

Did the engine last weekend at my Dad's house about 3 miles away. Today I towed the truck home with my TWELVE year old son in the 72 behind me. Looked pretty funny, no bed, doors, front clip. Just a kid with a huge ****-eating grin steering and being my brake man. What a proud moment for dad (me). One of the advantages of living in the country.... Now working on interior wiring harness from M & E Electrical, will take some pictures and post tomorrow. I've never wired a truck or any car for that matter, but let me tell you how impressive the quality of the M & E harness (s) are. Thanks to everyone for your words of praise. Will keep you posted...

Glad you found the board! Create a Build thread to capture your work. It's something I wish I had done when I first came aboard.

Welcome to the site from the true North in Canada. Looks like a nice project, clean engine, makes me smile to see that. Been to a few car shows and engines weren't that clean.

Re: New to board

Thanks. The engine was the first item to receive paint. The PO had put in a brand new Chevy HO 330 HP crate motor in it and never painted it nor cleaned up the engine compartment. I just don't understand that. Even though my truck will be a daily driver, I like to keep things clean.... here's some more of the engine:

Re: New to board

Hey Ryan. I am brand new to the board as well! I am also from the your same neck of the woods, I grew up in Carson City before joining the Navy and moving away. I just recently bought a 69 C-10 here in Va Beach, but I also have a garge kept all original 69 El Camino in Moundhouse. Look forward to sharing some idea's, and one day cruising around the neighborhood during Hot August Nights!!!
