what brake m/c for disc swap?

Whats up guys

1964 C10 - currently have the stock drum/drum with power booster single res m/c

Im grabbing the drop spindle/disc kit from speedway:
http://www.speedwaymotors.com/1963-7...Kit,46257.html

and need to get a dual res m/c for disc/drum.

What year/model should I go for here - Id like to keep my current booster etc to keep cost down

can i use a 68-82 vette or something better/cheaper?

thanks!

I used a m/c from 68-72 chevy truck and the proportional valve from the same and bolted right up (without booster) just had to adjust the brake pedal for proper length

Guess i am cheap. i grabbed the upper/lower control arms spindles booster and prop valve and all off a 87 suburban. Bolted right up also except booster had to drill a couple holes.

Re: what brake m/c for disc swap?

Badrian - I normally am too, and actually i got the whoel front end from an 85 c10 that i was going to use - along with some drop spindles, but after adding the money up to overhaul the front end and buy spindles, etc I was still at a few hundred bucks, plus i got some funny money for speedway so this 'kit' sounds like the ticket to me - Ive got the m/c from the 85 that would probably work but its that smallish unti with the plastic reservoirs - kinda not the look i want

did all 68 up corvettes have disc/drum combos? just not sure about whether the bore size will be right

blackmopar,
did you see this disc/drum master available from Speedway? It isw available in both 1' & 1-1/8" bore sizes and has brake line ports on both sides of the master. It's $59.00 new. Here's the link:

Hope this is of some use to you.

oops,
here's one more disc/drum with dual ports and it's $10.00 less than the other ones. Here's that link:

All you need is a master for a '71 and up truck, as well as the proportioning valve for the same.

I would go with what Captainfab suggested. That way if you need another new master cylinder at 3 PM on a Sunday you can go to your local parts house and get one. You wouldn't have to wait a few days to get another one from Speedway etc.
