Peeling Clear Coat Embarrassment

Well, I knew the clear coat on my truck was bad. It's original paint but I'm doubting the clear coat came from the factory. It's bubbled and is now peeling off in huge flakes. I'm having it painted in Feb. so I figured I could live with the peeling. Maybe I should rethink it. My son was following me today and after we stopped he asked me if I realized I was shedding clear coat all the way down the road. Apparently the shedding is bad enough that it was sounding like sleet on his car. Now I can't help wondering what the people behind me on the road are thinking.

Mine's a beautiful 84 Silverado with every whistle and bell you could get. Unfortunately, the farmer decommissioned it from Sunday go to meeting duty to farm duty and left it in the hot Texas sun. In use but cooking. After I got it and started the TLC I swear it tried to hug me once

mine did it on the hood, but the roof still peels. it isn't factory paint, but it was painted in 1995.

Re: Peeling Clear Coat Embarrassment

i found both the 87 and 88 peeled on the roof sides all over
lol
not sure but i've heard nobody reached that far sanding the roof
and the expanse/size of the roof makes it expand and contract is the more likely
