Bench Bleeder Tool

Anyone ever use a Cardone bench bleeder tool? I hope you can see the pic.

No, but you don't really need it. If you are buying a new MC, it should come with some screw-in plugs for the ports. Fill the MC with fluid, and push the part where the push rod goes. You will see bubbles when you do this. Keep pushing until the bubbles stop. Check out Youtube for some how-tos.

Looks like it might be useful if it really cuts down bench bleed time. The parts aren't cheaper than just buying one.

I saw the video of the bleeder tool. It only cost about $12.00. I think I will buy one. If I never use it again I will give it to my son. He is air bagging a 69. I think it might be a faster, and better way to bleed the brakes.

That's crazy! I think for $12, I'll go down to the feed store and buy 4 or 5 syringes (sp) and then figure out what to use for a tip...I'm thinking the rubber tip off an air gun might work.

Don't get me wrong, that's a darn good idea (wish I thought of that) but $12 for the tool seems outrageous especially when the feed store has bigger ones for only a couple dollars.

Only for bench bleeding the master cylinder. The syringe doesn't have the volume to bleed a brake circuit.

I have a homemade ACE 2gal garden sprayer pressure bleeder for actually bleeding brakes. It cost me $30 in parts 7 years ago. I just screw on the MC cap, pump it up to 18psi, and open the valve. Liter pop bottles make great catch cans.

Not sure what the fuss is about. Making a jig to bench bleed a master cylinder is a piece of cake. Also, speed bleeders, the ones that fit on the wheel cylinders, work very well.

I agree I use speed bleeders, then a vacum pump. takes me about an hour or so to bleed all 4 corners after installing a new MC. I usually do it myself, a second hand might be quicker

Used one in the 80's. I found it to be messy, quick enough, but messy. I despise the feel of Dot 3 on my hands. Dot 3 and antifreeze, both just feel weird on my hands.

I just use plugs any more and let the bubbles fly.

Me too! That stuff will suck the moisture from your skin.

I could not get my brakes bleed. I took the truck to a shop, and had them power bleed.
