Drop Spindles

Feedback from anyone thats ever used Classic Performance Products drop spindles on a '73-'87 C10 would be greatly appreciated. I'm looking into purchasing either CPP or DJM drop spindles from Summit Racing mainly because I can't find a cheaper price and only $12.95 for shipping/handling.

Re: Drop Spindles

41Willys, I have used a lot of spindles I can tell you this the CPP spindles are good quality. Another thing you might not know the CPP spindles move the wheels in one inch per side. Which I happen to like.

Re: Drop Spindles

The drop spindles I got from CPP actually moved the wheels out an inch and a half. and their customer service sucked. They have a PR guy on here now, so maybe their service is better now.

Great to see you around Lou. Whatcha been up to?

Re: Drop Spindles

Buy them from Summit Racing,... not directly from CPP and you will be fine.
Ususally they are Western Chassis spindles in a CPP box.

Make sure you get the correct 73-87 spindle.
They make 2.
One for 1-1/4" rotors and one for 1" rotors.

Thanks to all for sharing your experiences and ideas about "drop spindles". I think I'll be going with CPP from Summit...best deal around I can find.

Re: Drop Spindles

Has anyone bought the non-modular spindles recently that can confirm they do move the wheels in?

Re: Drop Spindles

Just a thought. Moving the track in will make the wheel come closer to the lower control arm. I have 3" spindles and there were wheel clearance issues with the 15x8 rally wheel. Hoping those are 2.5 in drop spindles as that should add you some clearance at the lower control arm.

i used 3" DJM's on my 75 and ran into the same problem. a little creative grinding with the ol' DeWalt and presto, lol.
