Even though I'm subscribed to this thread, I just went through and read it again. Picked up a lot of stuff I missed the 1st time.

BTW, if you need some big shop tools (55 ton press brake, box & pan brake, shear, mill, etc. ) hit me up. I am somewhat local to you 30 min or so away, Would like to meet the man with all these skills.

Hey man that is a very nice offer and I may have to take you up on that one of these days. Yeah we 47-59 guys in Cali really should get together for a meet and greet or something. Just to talk trucks and put faces with usernames.lol Vdog and the guys in the 60's forums have gotten together a couple of times. I guess us 47-59 guys could take a lesson from them and get together for lunch or something just to talk cars.

Its not just the 60's, all trucks are invited. Our invites are on the SoCal Checkin post. We have a meet coming up in Upland on the 27th of Feb and all are invited.

Yeah but when I went there is only 1960's truck guys and they were acting all uppity (not true just joking) because I did not have a 1960's truck and I had no one to talk to about the real classics.lol

But like I said you 60's truck guys get together I don't know whats wrong with us 47-59 guys.

Question for you Kabwe. When your removed the driprails along the backside of the truck did you have a small bump where the butt welds were? Also now that your are doing the bodywork are you using alittle filler where you did most of your butt welds? What kind of filler are you using? Last but not least, when you welded in the dash along that front sill did you cut the plate that holds the windshield wiper blade motor?

Drips rails - Yes but I cut it out and replaced with metal so that I would not have the bump.

Filler- I use duraglass over welded seams and rage everywhere else also on top of the duraglass if needed.

55 Dash - Yes but I will not be running windshield wipers.

Thanks man.

The reason for the AD battery lid? That is where my battery will be. Why because I want my firewall clean and my brother had a AD truck and I always found it very convenient.

The doors latches being reversed is because I did not want any electronics in the door. The electronics will be in the cab corners.

One piece electric windows. Sorry I don't know the car I don't hang out like I use to. I use to hang out at the Home Depot in Inglewood but it is just not what it use to be. It seems its becoming a ghost town since Ricky and Ronnies closed down I use to love that place on Friday nights.
