Will you post pics of your liftgate supports?

I've had this '65 GMC Suburban for two weeks and the fact that the liftgate has no supports is driving me NUTS!!

If I can get several detailed photos and some measurements of your liftgate supports, maybe the local machine shop can make me a set. If you know of an existing source of these supports, please share!

As it is now, we use an old broom handle to hold up the liftgate. The wife says it will push the glass out of the gate, and I am worried that one of the kids will knock the broom handle out and get conked on the head - that liftgate is heavy!

Thanks!!
