beefing up my 1/2 ton suggestions?

Well rather then go buy another truck which im sure would have mechanical problems since there is about a snowballs chance in hell of getting a new truck on a dollar menu budget so used would be my option.

Ive been thinking 3/4-1 ton components. Ive got some sources for parts so would not be a big deal but what should i look for? Ive been out of the game for to long. I dont mind if I have to use a larger wheel if an axle and spindle change are done as long as the truck stays the same since its paid for.

What i have now works but i dont like it 76 1/2 ton SWB 2wd 454. Right now i have a belltech drop kit on it wasent ever happy with it but it worked for just driving. I plan on doing alot more camping this summer and camping = towing and weight. At the least the drop kit is going by by and the 3.08 rear end i had to use since i blasted my last 2 diffs. I sure will miss those nice low highway rpm's the bb dident mind but here in colorado the mountains and highway gear dont get along to well so that gearset has got to go.
Any suggestions are welcome!

you might be interested in my build thread where i put 3/4 ton parts and brakes on my truck, if lifting is not your style then you could use stock spindles.
