Any Truck you just wont buy?

I was looking around for a truck for a bit so I got to look at quite a few. I determined that unless the price was absolutely right, I would never buy a truck with A/C. I even live in the hot and humid armpit of Hades. (the South) I guess it is because it crowds up the engine compartment and never seems to work. If it is there then I want it to work at least. You can of course just take the compressor out but then you have the grossly oversized core there not to mention the interior vents that seem to clog up an otherwise very streamlined dash.

Anyone else have any personal pet peeve options they would rather just leave to the rest?

'67-'72? No, like them all. Even a '67 long bed step side with a 292! What wouldn't I buy? Most any post '80 Ford, or any older Ford with a Y-block engine.

If we are talking 67-72 Chevys, I would never buy one with a rotted cab roof no matter the model or options.

Any truck with an Auto Trans.

I have actually found great trucks, but once I found out they had an Auto, I was walking. Years ago, with cars, I would convert them, but today I don't have the time and sometimes the Low Hump Floor is a problem, especially with 1-Tons.

I know, I'm a dinosaur, but I've been shifting gears for 42 years straight now and I have no plans on changing!!

My wifes grandma gave up her drivers license at age 90 and had never driven an automatic. She died 3 years ago at age 98. Her oldest son tried to teach her how to drive an auto back in the 60's and she wouldn't even get in the car. It was straight stick or nothing.

Re: Any Truck you just wont buy?

The only 67-72 I won't buy is one that's over-priced. If I had more money I'd probably be bringing home a few a month to fix up and sell and one or more a year for myself.

Anyone else have a 67-72 bucket list???

cheyenne super swb bb restored 100% all original (shows)
crew cab with an LSx (daily driver)
blazer roadster (fair weather toy)
Ramp truck to pick up more toys
Tow truck to help move around the big parts in the yard

Because they are cool. And actually useful for doing truck stuff, like hauling. I have one & love it.

What I wouldn't buy? Crew cab shorty. Auto trans. Rusted out cab.
