Today's junkyard finds

Well after getting sucked into going antiquing with the girlfriend and being a good boy all day, she took me by a junkyard... Big mistake on her part 2 hours, a couple miles of walking, and quite a few cool old trucks later, I ran across a 60-61 C-60 Viking. No pics of the truck but I just had to pull some of the parts off of her. (She was in the scrap lineup) Anyways, not much but made for a fun day!

Re: Today's junkyard finds

ncd1966- I'm lucky she enjoys walking around and looking at the old ferd trucks, still trying to get her converted to chevy though...

richards- I haven't had a chance to yet but i'll add it to the list!

And I found it in a big yard in tiny town called St. Louis, OK. its between asher and maud on 59. There were about ten 60's trucks that hadn't been picked over hardly at all.

Thats what I'm thinking!!! I'm going to wire the grill to run out of a house plug and make a night light out of it. I'll just hook into the existing wires, put a little switch on it, and hang it from a couple nails! But I won't alter it at all just incase someone else needs it for a project. It's all for sale btw...

Re: Today's junkyard finds

What's up fellas? You guys are talking about some my favorite areas. I duck hunt some in St. Louis and fish all the time in Konawa.
Killer score on the parts Duner!
How does this guy price the parts? Does he just fire off a price? I used to buy parts all the time from a wrecking yard in Norman. They kinda acted like it was dumb but I spent many a lunch break over there. The place is located on Sooner road now. Can't remember there name. sometimes they would weight the heavy parts and give me real good deals. Glad to see some local guys. I don't get in this area too much. but one of these days I'll get one of these cool old trucks too.

I think we Okies are going to organize a meet this year. Are you guys interested?

I don't know if those guys let you pull parts anymore or not? They did back in the 90s. I haven't seen any impalas anywhere. I will keep an eye out for you though.
As far as the meet, the guys that organized the last two meets aren't around anymore. Some got the boot and one is in Alaska. So, we'll have to see when and where. We did meet in Norman a few years ago at Rudys bbq. We could do an informal deal like that any weekend.
