Re: 48 panel truck
shannon,
looking great. as for the youtube link. Just copy the URL aka web address when you are watching your vid on youtube. Just paste that link in your post and it will automatically imbed the video. Basically if you can post to youtube, you copy the URL and paste it in your post here. Super easy.

Re: 48 panel truck
Fat Mike, Thank you. I will try to take a picture of the turn signals tonight. They are the Hagan flush fit ones. You sand them down to the profile of the body. I do not buy them anymore because it is ten times cheaper just to make them. I have a 2 foot square piece of the lens material that I just cut out to make my own shape and size.
oldman3, Groyd, Thank you. 99 to Life, britnjc, Thank you both for helping with the upload. youngrodder, Thank you. The muffles are Flowmasters and it is all 2 1/2 mandrel bends that I did. The tip is SS and is 12" x 3" high. The only thing is if/when I bag it I will have to change some things. I have the back disc brake to put on and the e brake pedel to mount and hook up, the wipers, the body work on the drivers side and little odds and ends like the glass and hooking up the lights . I want to at least drive it in epoxy primer this year. I have had it for to long and have decided to get it on the road this year. It will not be finished but a least driveable. I have most of the things to get it driveable, it is just the time. I will try to drive it to the Nats east here in York which is in June. Shannon |

Re: 48 panel truck
I'll def plan on heading out to Nats in June. We can surely meet up. I like the exhaust sound too. Sounds like a decent cam and exhaust set up.

Re: 48 panel truck
99 to Life, We will have to meet up. You can come check out my monster shop(20'x20'). HAHA It has a solid cam it, so you hear the lash in the rockers. It should work really good. I just hope I do not have to adjust the valves all the time. It does have the locking nuts with the set screw on the top. I always loved the Flowmaster sound. It can drive you nuts though.

Re: 48 panel truck
Fat Mike, Here is a picture of my front turn signals. They are from Hagans. The burnt primer is where I welded a 1/4-20 stud to hold on the light bucket. The other pictures are of the tail light that I made. The blue bed is my sons that he sleeps in. I fabbed the whole thing except the fenders. The other one is the 1954 truck I was building. I make them now because it is a whole lot cheaper to do so. I buy the translucent acrylic plastic from delvie's plastics and there special glue. The reflective plastic sheet is bought from Lowes and is for drop ceiling lights. Making them you can make what ever shape and size. I then make a sheet metal bucket and buy the light socket at a local auto parts store. Then I use a LED 1157 bulb. You then sand them to the profile of the fender, roll pan , or where ever you put them. Tape them up for paint and peel off and clear coat right over them.

Re: 48 panel truck
Shannon, nice deal on the lights look good. Your sons bed is just great. You talking about the Nats East in York brings back a lot of memories for me. When I lived in the Detroit, MI area my wife and I pulled a camper with our 32 Chevy to York each year for about ten years. Last time we were there was in 1994. Here's an old shot from the late 80's....Jim

Re: 48 panel truck
oldman3, Thank you. He really loves his bed. I was there at the nats while you were. I have been going for maybe 27 years. It is not anything like it was. No campers anymore and there is hardly any more cruising at night anymore. It was great when it was like that. I would stay till midnight when it was like that. When they stopped the camping it ended all that. It just is not the same show it was. The numbers are down and there are not as many venders anymore. That was a pretty good drive for you from Detroit.

Re: 48 panel truck
Shannon, Don't mean to clutter up your thread, but you are right. Th camping was the best part of the Nats East. The wife and I would sit in front of the camper and watch cars all night, cruise the loop, good times. Met some really nice people also. It was around 500 miles each way from Detroit, but I always liked driving my 32 Chevy, even with the camper. When I passed people on the interstate they would give the funniest look.....Jim

Re: 48 panel truck
Shannon
the panel is looking sweet..I took my Burb & son (14) to the Good Guys show in Charlotte . As a 20 year vett of York Nats GG is like York used to be. Plus the track time is too much fun. Down side the F*rd 9 in rear let go at speed south of Richmond & turned us into spectators . When I was back for the Holidays I picked up a 53 AD 3100 to stuff that 96 vett that,s sitting next to the house. Keep the post,s coming It keeps me enthused till I get Stateside Ken... Quote:

Re: 48 panel truck
48 GMC BURB, Thank you. You know you are going to have to do a build thread on the truck when you start. Yes, York is not the same as it was 10 years ago. I love the goodguys shows. That stinks what happen on the way to the show. At least you still made it there! When do you come back to the states for good?
reaper71, Yes, it is a lot cheaper. You can buy a 2'x2' sheet for less than one set of tail lights. Plus you can make your own style and shape. Shannon
