What total trim makes a 60-66 truck a custom cab
I'm the proud new owner of a 1960 all original swb step side 88,000 original miles with the 235-6 and 3 spd. I also bought a 1962 Custom cab swb fleetside (which is for sale now) and was wanting to put the Custom Cab chrome that's behind the door's on my 60 but I want to follow through with the whole thing. My question is what options made it a custom cab in the first place?
Thanks ~ Bubba |

Re: What total trim makes a 60-66 truck a custom cab
62 had several "custom" options available in the "cab" - but I don't believe it was actually referred to as "custom cab" option until later (don't quote me on that). Anyhoo - from what I can tell - here's what you could get:
- Custom Comfort (nice foam seat with cloth cover, can insulation, passenger even got an armrest and sunshade, and you both shared a cig lighter) - Custom Appearance (Bright grille, windshield reveal molding, special steering wheel with chrome horn ring, two tone door panels, bright sail plates - what you refer to in your post) - Custom Chrome (bumpers) - Custom Side Molding Here's a pic from the 62 sales brochure - |

here's a pic of the cab from the same brochure. Sorry I don't have any 1960 stuff - but since you were asking about 62, here ya go - hope this helps.

Thanks Jocko this is very helpful. I've owned several 55-59 and 67-72 but this 1960 is a first for me and I don't know that much about them yet ( But I will ).

Re: What total trim makes a 60-66 truck a custom cab
welcome to the addiction. I'm with ya, used to own a 72 (and may again some day...) and I miss it, but sure enjoy my 66. It's much more "hot-roddable" whereas my 72 was much more begging to be restored. So I sold that slouch!
Now, don't tell my 60-66 friends, but I've been slummin over at the 67-72 side a bit lately. There, I SAID IT, DON'T HATE ME BECAUSE I'M AMBITRUCKSTEROUS! |
