Re: Crew cab ??

So finally I have been able to get going a little on this truck I got from Padresq
All of the 4x4 drivetrain is gone, it went to a good home along with my 66 GMC 4x4 Panel that is a driver.
I have already started on a 'C' notch in the rear, extending the frame a few inches in the rear. I am using 3" x 5" x 3/16" tubing for the rear clip.

I shortened a longbox to 5' 10" and centered up the diff in the box.
I'll be adding a 3rd door on the passenger side mounted suicide. Going to use a 60 - 61 door and shorten it to fit. The doorjam and hinge post will be lots of work. Somebody did some really crude rocker and floor work and cab mounts repair is brutal. All is getting addressed now.
I will get a build thread on this truck pretty quick.

This a great thread with lots of inspiration. Thanks Jon for all the pics!

Re: Crew cab ??

this would have made the ideal frame for that c/c with the 4whl dr stuff under it and you would have been able to run a full box on it

Re: Crew cab ??

I don't remember where I got this picture,, if it is a real truck or photo shopped . I think it looks great !! I like the pillar line between the doors,, very clean.

Does anyone know this truck ? Would like to read a build thread if it is an actual truck.

Excellant thread !! Fantastic pictures !! Thank you to all that have contributed !! Tom

Re: Crew cab ??

I believe that is a photoshopped pic. I remember that thread from a while back. There were a few variations in that same thread.

Re: Crew cab ??

Sharp trucks !!

It seems that there are a lot more of the crew cabs in the west and southwest,,,, don't see them around Iowa. I realize that the no rust helps keep the old iron alive buy I don't remember seeing them around here 40 years ago either.

Thanks for the pictures !! Food for thought !! I personally like the lifted 4x4 versions of the crew cabs more than the 2 wheel drives ,, just my likes, they all look great !!

Re: Crew cab ??

I just posted this in my build thread; Tony should be tearing down my crew cab very soon. Keep an eye out for pictures on his Flickr page (link in my signature). Time to rescue one of these beasts!

Re: Crew cab ??

That tan Jimmy shortbed CC had another pic with a factory snowplow mount on it, I've seen that one before. I'd love to get ahold of a 64 CC C20 on up that either had the fleetside or stepside longbed on a 4x4 setup.
