Re: the not-so full wheel covers
A pickup with base model painted hubcaps seem to be pretty rare on this site. They are usually found on a low mileage unaltered originals. IMO, the look is awsome. Modern pickups just dont have this look anymore, (1978 was the last year base model GM pickups came with "white" painted hubcaps). How I miss that era!

Re: the not-so full wheel covers
I figured '75 was the last year for painted hub caps. That was the last year for the style that ran from '69. I have never seen a painted 76-91 hub cap. What did a painted 76-78 hub cap look like? Were they the same as the bright stainless caps? Was '78 the last year for painted bumpers?(...until the W/T series years late)
I really like a plain Jane truck as well as a highly optioned one. But,I guess I'm one who's guilty of not caring for the painted caps that much on anything past when grilles would also be painted. I'm sure I would have changed the painted ones (and you could thank me for the well preserved examples that sat above the garage for 40 years) if I bought a truck with them. I used to like the look of no hub caps and wide wheels back when these trucks were fresh. The first thing I did on the '72 Highlander I bought in '73 was ditch the wheel covers. Hey! I was 18!! What did I want with old man wheelcovers? I ran 8" and 10" steel wheels either naked or with '54 Chevy car caps depending on the mood.
