Need some ideas

I will be bringing my bed home this week to install lights and bedwood, but the rest of my truck is still at the shop. Does anyone have any ideas for something that I can sit the bed on while I install the wood that will keep it secure and not damage the paint.
Thanks

Re: Need some ideas

What bed ? .. all I see is a calendar on the wall (kidding)

Looks good man. I have seen some people stand the bed up on end and install the wood vertically but that scares me to even think about it.

If you have a cherry picker (?) maybe put eye bolts in the bed mount points and use an engine hoist / tilt with nylon tow straps to lift and keep it level. Stong obviously.. Install all the other wood, except for those where the bed mounting bolts are. Sit it on your truck, mount it up.. and install the remaining boards (??)

Don't know man .. just thinking out loud because I'm going to have to do the same thing soon.

Re: Need some ideas

Build you a rack to set it on. Cross chains in the stake pockets or use some eye bolts in the cross braces ( I did it both from the bottom when I first started working on it, then flipped it to the eye bolts were inside the bed until I got the wood in.)

Re: Need some ideas

^^ Yeah, what he said. Kind-of what I was thinking.

Thanks for the stand specs! I'll need one too.

Re: Need some ideas

Those measurements also work as a cab holder (That is the reason for 3 boards on one end.)
