question on price of truck

looked at a 69-70 short step today. my moms friend had seen the truck somewhere else and said the asking price was 7500. its this greenish color with custom wheels and wide ass tires. wooden bed. body in real good condition. interior has custom buckets with console in middle. custom stereo. nice chrome looking outer grill. painted inner grille, headlight bezels, door panels, instrument bezel this dark red color. seats are dark red. its owned by a painter and is registered in mexico. didnt get to open hood. but it was automatic by looking inside, had power steering, bc i could see the stuff by the fender, and had dual exhaust which meant it prob had a v8. noticed bondo on rockers but nowhere else. couple questions. think trade of both or all three of my trucks and some cash would be a good trade and if the plates are from mexico, is that a bad thing. is there a lot involved in bringing it over to america's plates. title may be in mexico. i dont know bc owner wasnt there. it had chrome bumpers also. it was also lowered. sorry, didnt have the camera, i know where it is though.

Seems like kind of a lot of money to me! Of course i don't know what the market is like in texas. Being owned by a painter migh tmean that it has been done right though.

Good luck!

Stay away from the Mexico truck. I guarantee you that there is way more bondo on that thing than you can see.

Not to insult the guy, but I know of a painter/bodyman that uses ducttape, bondo by the gallon. He is a freind of mine but I would never let him work on my truck. BUT his paint jobs are cheap. I have seen one impala he did and when they slamed the door 1/2 to 2" of bondo fell off the quarter panel, looked like ice falling. I lmao, he didn't even sand the rust or paint off before putting it on. I asked him what he was thinking, " I ran out of sandpaper that day" If you buy that truck take a magnet.

Just because he is a body man does not mean that he is a good body man. Like Jay said, take a magnet, I'll bet you find lots more. I would definately check out the interior of the cab under the mats too, and the corners to see just how bad it really is. Be varrrrrrrryyyy wary of anything that has bondo anywhere on it at all. It usually means there is more somewhere else you can't see.

actually, i dont know if it was bondo on the rockers, or what is was. the bottom part was very smooth but where the rockers met the cab on the cab it wasnt smoothed very well. what is involved in bringing a truck with mexican plates into the us. i probably wont get this truck, but i like this guys paint jobs, if i get the truck painted eventually, it might be by him. i know there is a lot to worry about having a truck titled in mexico, which this one prob is because it had mexican plates on it. such as if it was stolen, if there is a title, and such. any info would help
