has anyone widen the 15x6 6 lug stock steel wheels? I want to find some 15x8 but are pretty hard to come by. Wondering if anyone has gotten them widen? About how much was it if you guys dont mind. also do you think a 30 plus yr. welder could widen them?

Re: stock rims
I wouldnt widen them too costly. They do turn up so just have some cash ready when they do. I have them on my Blazer with 33x12.50 and they look sweet IMO!
The 15x8 stock rims were mostly used on the military Blazers. Crewcab59 had a few for sale try here... http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=476651

Re: stock rims
Bbrendal, thats funny that you posted this. Your set up is what made me want stock rims with 33's in the first place. quick question for you. have you had any rubbing issues with stock suspension?

Re: stock rims
went to my local junkyard today to look for rims. There is a Ton of wheels like these but I have no idea how to tell if they are the 15x6 or 15x8's without taking the tire off and measuring the inside. That would take a ton of time at a junk yard! so does anyone know if there is a way to measure them with the tire on? or tell the difference by looking at them?
I noticed on the link that Bbrendal posted it shows pictures of stampings showing the size of the rim. Either they are hard to find or i just dont know where to look for the stamps. Any help is greatly appreciated, I want some so bad! also, Im a poor college student so thats why im scrounging junkyards. Its all I can afford. |

Re: stock rims
Thats funny. I have not had any rubbing issues. My suspension is nice and firm though. If the suspension sags you may have some issues. As far as a better way to ID 15x8 steelies I could tell by the look of them but the best I coud tell u is check the outer edges for the size to be stamped. You could also fine a 15x8 rally and compare that way. Good Luck on your search.

Re: stock rims
hey Bbrendal, I know you told me the paint code was 510 on your build. What brand/make is it? (Omni, ppg?) and is the color actually called 510 or is 510 just the SPID code?
Looking to order paint here really soon and I fell in love with the color you got. So any help would be awesome! |

Re: stock rims
after reading "basics of the basics" on color matching, there is a bunch of different alternates of the same color of paint. so if there is any alternates that you know of please tell me too.
