Anyone else using one like it?

odd how it prefers full fill ups only, I never goto E or fill to F, so its always a partial fill up.

After entering 3 months of receipts that I write down mileage on.

Says im getting 14.49 MPG in my wagon.

Allot better then the 11-12 it should be getting in stock config, but the way the gas needle moves at times, you would think it got 4-5 MPG.

I don’t go very far really, longest distance I go regularly is to the GF house.
GPS says its 18 miles round trip. But ids swear it took 3-4gal to make that trip. Average speed by the GPS are always in the low 40s mpg, and max is in the 70s to very low 80s Highway is 65, semi’s do 70 n I hate being close to those driving so you gotta keep a tad faster pace then them

I only did 3 months of receipts as I went back to stock tires, 225/75/15 but changing tires I noticed no difference needle wise. Still stage dives, even when I have fixed gas leaks in the past that it poured on the ground like a garden hose, id still notice no change in it asking for gas once fixed.

I'm not understanding your method of fuel consumption. If you randomly fill the car up to any amount and write down the mileage between those randoms amounts you're not learning anything about your actual mileage. The Fuel Log App wants you to fill the car up because if you fill the car up, drive X number of miles and put Y gallons of fuel back into the car to fill it up completely then you can divide your miles driven by gallons used to truely know your MPG. With the method you describe above, you're MPG are just an estimated guess.

I only buy $20 worth of gas at each stop, and I write down the mileage on the fuel ticket each time.

Your method isn’t figuring the actual mpg.

You need to fill it completely till it click off by it’s self & write down the miles on the odometer.

Then go a week or so writing down each time you put gas in how many gallons you put in, no need to mess with writing the miles you drove yet.

Then fill up the tank, preferably with the same station/pump you originally filled it and let it fill till it clicks off by its self again & write down your mileage & gallons.

Add all the gallons you put in thru the week, subtract the miles from when you originally filled it from the miles now. Divide that by the gallons.

That will give you the actual average mpg.
