fuel vent lines inside cab?

i noticed in LakeAnna's build thread that he was asking what these lines were for. VA72C10 said they are fuel vent lines that came only on the 72.
hopefully VA72C10 will see this and give me more information.

i have a 69 c10 and i have these vent lines. my title says 1969. however, i don't have a vin on the dash in the windshield. the only place where i have a vin is on a name plate that's rivited on the drivers door jam. i suppose it's possible someone swapped name plates.

what are some other ways to distinguish a year? other than a front clip.

thanks.

Does your gas pedal have a cable or the rod type?

Did you have disk brakes up front? Or on the title?

Re: fuel vent lines inside cab?

Unless someone changed the pedal, your cab is a 71 or 72. Does it have a raised part for the rear view mirror? If it does its a 71 if not a 72. VIN tag has probably been changed.

The cable was 71-72. In 72 the rear view mirror would be on the windshield. In 71 there would be a raised pad for the rear view between the visors. Some 71s and 72s had a vent in the drivers door jamb. Is the tag still in the glove box door and does it match the door jamb?

Re: fuel vent lines inside cab?

the tag has been changed. from what ls1nova71 is saying, it's a 72.
the vin in the glove box doesn't match. the original color of the cab is green. the glove box has been primered a few times, but i can barely see under the hinge a little spec of green, so it's probably the original door. there is no raised area for the rear view mirror.

hmmm, i have quite the fanagled truck here. a 72 cab, 68 front clip, ? yr fleetbed, ? yr frame, and a 69 title.

i guess when people ask me what year my truck is, i can just say "it's a 67-72. i love 67-72 trucks so much, i can't help but to have a piece of all of them."

any ways of identifing the frame?

Re: fuel vent lines inside cab?

I think the top of the frame near the steering box has a partial VIN number.

I hate when people bastardize vehicles.
