Thanks Trently.

i HAVE to have a clean workshop before i start any project. Makes life so much easier. Even just having painted floors helps you find nuts and bolts when you drop them

Just have to work on getting more machinery and tools now.

Here is when it was nice and clean when i started.

Re: 56 chevy build (Aus)

Thanks kgmunro.. First time welding sheet metal and doing bodywork so its not perfect but just learn as you go, alot more fun learning yourself then paying someone .

Finished glueing and biscuiting the wood bed together, turnout out really smooth . I ended up using merbau wood. Now i just have to router the groves for my strips down the middle and spend a few hours sanding it to look like glass. Im Going to fasten it from the back so no bolts or screws will be seen. And i think i have come up with something different other then 25-30mm bed strips, pics will be up soon

the merbau is a great timber for durability. Will come up a treat with the finishing, and strips.

Re: 56 chevy build (Aus)

IM BACK haha

Been busy on the truck and work is crazy atm so i have not had much time for the computer these days.

So there there are a couple of updates.

- Got my 4link, bags, panhard bar, bag brackets in the rear. All turned out really clean. Went for the look of "LESS IS MORE" there are thousands of bagged trucks with bar work everywhere so i tried to hide it all.

-The bags are on the outside of the frame as you get alot better handling / turning, with the wider weight transfer..

Fully aired up.

Also once i had done the Air bags my Tub mounts looked really bad with the bars across so i decided to draw some up on CAD an get them laser cut. Ended up being really easy for a great look.

My side cab steps were shot with many pit holes in them. i looked at getting a replacement set shipped over from the us but looked like i was going to cost me close to $200 each.

So i came up with this idea don't know how it will turn out, but it might look cool.

I made some boxes to sink in the steps and then sink the 19mm merbau wood the same as i have in the bed floor in them. Something different.

before

Tacked in. I cut a small bit of wood to test in the corner.

finished

And just a couple of other photos.

Will have more updates soon. Boxing the rest of the frame this weekend and mounting the fuel tank with a new crossmember in the back.

Do you think you can post a picture of the hubcap and maybe the tire specs. By the way trucks looking good. I built the same type of C-notch and used a four bar set up with coils
