Power steering pump question

The power steering pump from the 2004 lq4 has 2 return lines and 1 feed line, what do I do with the extra return line?

Re: Power steering pump question

Ok, so I don't have to get a different pump, that is good news. How should I cap it off? Is there any kind of pressure on the returns?

Re: Power steering pump question

a bit but not much. I just stuck a stainless bolt in the end, I think it was a 12 or 14mm I had laying around. Stuck a hose clamp around it and it hasn't moved anywhere in the past 5000mi or so.

You mean in a hose on the nipple right? If you just put a bolt in the metal nipple on the died of the pump you would never get it to not leak. Just clarifying things.

Re: Power steering pump question

I was thinking of just putting a short piece of hose on it with a bolt or rod of some sort in it and then clamp it down.

Re: Power steering pump question

Mine had a stub of rubber tubing on it, I stuck the bolt in that. It wasn't the bare metal.
