Call them up and ask for Carlos. Ask them for thier P/U belts but tell them you want to add the 69 GM Style buckles and latches. They didnt even charge m for the different latches.

I know I know. Its killing me. But I havent Gotten the front end sheet metal back from the body shop yet. Ill have it Friday, Than Ill be working at Warp speed again. My wife is getting tired of looking at the Grille in the den. Since than I added the bumper to the den. My mother in law asked if it was a lamp? I mean come on way over your head!

You had said before that you wanted the doors to be Painted on the truck. How did they do that? Did they do the jambs of the cab and the inside of the doors first? Or just all at once with creative spraying in the jambs? After test fitting my doors, I'd like to do that as few times as possible in the future, haha. Truck is looking great

I speceifically asked to have the doors paint on the cab. So he sprayed the inside one day including the doors and the next day he masked off the interior and sprayed the outside.

Or... After you have your doors aligned drill two 1/8" holes through the hinge into the pillar (Top and bottom) Than remove the doors for paint. I like to weld an 1/8 rod to the hinge with a "pin" sticking out about 1/4". Than when everythings painted you simply align the pins to the holes and tighten the doors.

Thanks for answering my question too. I drilled two 1/8" holes in ea. hinge before disassembly. However, it turns out the doors weren't fitted all that well to start with. After all my rust repair, the doors didn't want to fit worth a darn. So my plan is to weld up those and do exactly what you are talking about. BTW, it is a major pain in the butt to align the doors on these trucks.

I have another question, what did it cost you to get the shoulder seat belts made? We're made from your original belts or new? thanks

He actually said it was a major pain in the arse to do that way ashe was leaning in around the doors upside down trying to get the roof and even sprayed all up under the dash.

I think I paid $350 for the new belts including new latches and buckles that they supplied and including a new center lap belt as well. Made from Seatbelt solutions. I asked for a set of thier truck 3 pt belts and asked if they could add the 69 GM buckles (Which they stock) No extra charge for changing to the GM buckls which I thought was great!

And yes aligning these doors Sucks! These cabs were'nt manufactured very straight from day one. My drivers door rubbed straight from the factory and you can see where they tried to "fit" it. I had to heat up the windshield pillar a bit and work put a dent on the bottom side to make the factory fit actually fit

Awesome! from you pictures it looks like you have very good painter/body guy. Is the paint as nice in person? Probably more like the pictures don't do justice to the quality.

Just an FYI. For Anyone that doesnt have another set of hands around when putting your fenders on. I made this nifty Guide Pins to hold up the rear of the fender while I got the screws started on the front. (Run a tap through all the holes too- made it very easy to start the screws) But the guide pins are just long 3/8'-16 bolts that I cut the heads off and wrapped with tape. Those and a bit of patrience and all was well.

I have to find an aftermarket Antenna today as the Factory Replacement I bought doesnt fit. My truck had a "Dealer installed" radio and the antenna hole is a little ways off of where the factory one sholud be. If thats my only snag, Ill take it!

My truck got its happy face back! Turns out my new T3's came today. I had to send back the old ones cause they were the wrong year. I got the best aftermarket antenna I could find locally and fit the cowl panel back in. Add the front bumper and good to go. Its a shame the repop fenders dont fit the grille area tightly as they should, but doesnt look bad. I May still re-work the grille mounts a little to close the gaps, but Ill wait til I get the hood on. Been sick for three days now and I finally cant take it no more so Im turning in early tonight.

Maybe tommorow Ill get the inners fitted and than onto the hood. At least the hood is home for now.

Thanks guys. This is certainally my fastest build. I built an MG Midget (somewhat Street Legal) racecar from scratch a few years back. I dont think I was ever really done This truck is just so simple in terms of what Im used to work on in engines and electronics. I love how the wrinig harness' dont even have wire loom or are wrapped at all. Ahhh good ole Chevy.
