Thanks!
With some great help and insite from others on this Board, I purchased a 1972 Cheverolet Suburban. It is in fantastic shape (barring a little rust creaping up from the bottom) and I'm very much looking forward to freshening it up.
Fist stop, suspension. The first time I turned, I thought is was going to roll over onto its doors. It probably has the original 30 year old shocks. I'm looking to firm up and level out the ride as well as lower the stance a bit. I was looking at the clasic performance products website and they have a plethora of options. It looks like top line equipment. Is there a good source of input/reviews/etc for this and other sources of suspension upgrades? Thanks in advance! Also are there some prettier options for the naked side marker and tail lights? Did they offer any with chrome bezels or otherwise? --carter |

There are \were two styles of markers The nicer trucks had chrome bezels and were divided horizontally while cheapos like mine had plain jane with vertical dividers .Should be several sources Think I saw them in Chevy Duty and probabaly elsewhere . You might check on the parts board Bunch of guys there with stuff Best o luck with your truck .

If you don't like the factory side marker lights you can change them out with 95' gm full size van marker lights. They screw right in and look a lot more smooth than the truck lights. Nice looking burb by the way! Welcome to the board also!

Thanks for all the replies
I'll keep you posted on my progress. It'll be slow (two kids under 4 and a house in the middle of a remodle, plus a garage full of datsun 510's that I'm also working on) but it will be fun!
Is there an e-mail list for 67-72 trucks as well or is this BB the prefered communication method for you guys? --carter btw, Wes, I'll definately stop by sometime. My dad has a 70 2wd LB and my brother has a 67! We are all in the area. |

Carter,
Welcome aboard!! If you need to know or want anything, This board is the way to mainly find it. There is also the "PM" feature, We use it for things we don't want everyone to read, or for something we don't figure others would be interested in. There are total restoration guys/gals here, or drop em, slam em, cut em.. Good luck on your new project!! Ron And for the side marker lights, A few of the guys here used Newer Trans Am side marker lights, (like 84-5),,, They say they bolt right on and they really look smooth and different. I May do this one myself. Last edited by RON WOODGEARD; 09-11-2003 at 04:21 PM. |
