Those were some nice looking trucks, I always like the flatbeds on certian trucks.

Dubie, cool stuff. My long narrow bed is perfect but im tempted to do a flatbed conversion. Maybe cut a foot or two off the back so the rear end looks farther back and some big meats. I should talk to the photoshop guys. Not tryin to hyjack your post, it just inspirered me.

Did you have to cope the center rails also?
This really doesn't look all that hard to do. Just gotta get it square.

on the small center supports, they are coped on both ends. The outer center frame supports are butt welded to the middle beams and then coped on the outer edges to fit flush into the C channel. All the coping was done with a grinder.

not sure yet. Either 2 x 6 with flatbar strips or a piece of checker plate steel

This one is the butt weld of the outer middle support that is welded to one of the center beams

Here is a shot of the outer corner all welded up. Coping the ends sure made a nice clean job
