Re: Will be driving a dragster in the morning!!!
Well I have to say it was fun. They have the cars very tame, i was the first car out of othe group track temp was 46* so traction was a huge issue. Sme know hopw they do these and others dont so i will give a bit of detail.
Burn out = in water box, light the tires for 2 seconds. lift, pull up to the line. SO very little tire heat. The cars where spinning pretty hard on the launch. Launch is foot on the brake with car at idle ( 1000 rpm) , lift brake hit gas.. NO loading the engine, what so ever. There is no trans brake, no line lock, no two step for a high rpm launch. Engine is a 400 hp SBC car weighs 1250 lbs so power to weight is very good. Trans is a speed glide with a solenoid shift into second at 5400 RPM.. Like I said the cars are tame.. 10.44 @ 133 MPH Here is the funny part 60 Foot times 1.998 = no traction some cars where getting side ways a bit on the launch. All in all I had a great time and would tell any one that does not have a race car to give it a go if you get the chance. I will add some pics up and the in car run

10's are fun, aren't they? I did 10.89 in my buddies 71 Cutlass that I helped build.
sounds like it was a supercomp dragster. my old boss had one of those with a BB before he switched to FMD

Re: Will be driving a dragster in the morning!!!
thats cool ,if i ever could fit in the cage i would do it but they would have to cut up the roll cage like a sardine can to get me out and that would be expensive ride
my friend is going to las vegas again to try and get his nhra license for 7.5 index you get 3 attemps to make one run to get the lic. he failed his first 3 times last year
