64-66 steering column info.

I have a 1966 chev c-10 I am fixing to convert to auto. I want a actory looking column. No tilt needed. Will 67-72 work? Wiring and all? If so does anyone have one to purchase. Good working order but shiney not needed. My truck is seasoned. Dont wanna new column. Thanks in advance

`67 to `86 will work...the only thing that will change will be the intermediate shaft between the vibration coupler and column itself, you will have to adjust length. But the 67 to 72 would be better for wiring harness.

A van tilt column will work to. I know you said no tilt was needed but if your gonna do it ,... Just as long as there is nokey in the column I would think it would probably work. I have a tilt out of a likr 66or 67 buick or might have been a chevelle. It looks very simalar to the tilt that I have put in my 68 GMC truck. Also motorhomes have tilts that are more close to the truck tilt than the van columns. I have one on the shelf and one srill in the motorhome and it is an 86 model

I did an auto conversion a while back, and when I started, I couldn't find a '60-'66 automatic column. I had a '67 column, but I wanted to make it where it would bolt into the exact same points as a '60-'66, so I modified the '60-'66 lower plate (the one that the e-brake handle bolts to) and changed the mount bolt position of the '67 column to bolt directly into the same place that my '64 originally did. It looks factory.

As soon as I bolted it up into the truck, I found a '60-'66 automatic column, so I bought it. I still have the modified column if you're interested.

chevyrestoguy, sounds like you have the same kind of luck I do. In the mid 90's I spent hours cleaning/contouring a holley main body. Wasn't quite done and saw Proform had come out with one all smoothed up for $125.
Go figure.
