I'm at that point, if I'm going to add it now is the time.
Anyone got time to show me what you did? Mine will be a summer-only driver, and no AC. Did you use GM or aftermarket?

Im not to that point yet but I hve thought about it. Id like to do something frame mounted or under the passenger side of the cab. It'll keep the engine compartment cleaner not to mention I dont have to mess with running long lines. It'll have to be fan cooled so my only worry is noise.

We just buy a trans cooler from a local parts store and then mount it in front of the radiator.

I have ran several of the the aux. coolers that go in front of the radiator. In SB trucks they are fine, my big block stuff tends to run warmer than the small blocks, therefore adding heat in front of the radiator in counter productive. I have found the Derale kit from Jegs to be really nice. It comes with mounting brackets that all it to be mounted to the floor and get airflow, as well as a fan. i'm running this setup on my TH350 with a 4000 stall, and having no issue keeping the trans cool.

Ron -

My son is running a trans cooler from Summit Racing for his Big Block '68 with a Turbo 400. It is mounted in front of a Summit aluminum 4 core radiator with 12" electric fans. We have added "Water Wetter" to the coolant to lower the operating temp even more.

We purchased a couple of lengths of transmission tubing and bent them to exit just below the radiator core support. We haven't fired the engine yet, but from my experiences with this set up, we should be fine.
