1978 k10 gets wound up at between 55 and 60

the motor gets way wound up on the freeway at 55 or 60, i beleive it has either 373 or 411 gears, is there anything i can do sans putting another rear end underneath it. motor has tons of power just gets wound up at 60

You can not put a new rear end in and instead just do a overdrive transmission. So pick your poison lol

Thats the route I went. My truck is fairly happy on the highway now with 3.73s and 35s with the muncie 4 speed. When I got it it had 265/75r16s prob about a 31 or 32 and it screamed on the highway. Lost some power off the line but with the amount of highway driving I do with my truck it was worth it.

Good call, my 4.10 th400, stock tire combo cost me a head gasket doing 4000rpm too long on the highway. i was too cheap for a lift but made the 37" toyos fit, now it loves the highway lost over 1000RPM
