How low can you go without c-notch?

70 c10 leaf springs in rear. Currently I am setup for 3" front drop, 4" rear using lowering coil springs in front, lowering leafs in rear. While we have the front end apart and have a bare frame sitting, I was thinking of going ahead with 2" spindles in front and 2" shackles in rear for a total drop of 5/6. Is this possible without a c notch? I wanna also run 20x8 and 20x10 wheels.

Not sure if a 3/4 drop will be enough for me. Any links to pics of 3/4 drop?

I had a 4/6 drop on my truck before without a cnoth and it was fine however any kind of real weight in the back the rear end would hit the frame.

If you have it torn down now, go ahead and do a notch. Your going to want it sooner or later, so do it while the trucks down.

exactly... especially if you are wanting to go that low. Just do it and get it over with

Re: How low can you go without c-notch?

Is it fairly easy to do now while the beds off? Is 5/6 drop too low to where I will be scraping over speed bumps and stuff? I won't ever be hauling anything with it.

Will 20x8 and 20x10 fit fine?

Re: How low can you go without c-notch?

I have a 5/7 slam and no issues going over speed bumps....as long as you go SLOW. I installed my c-notch with the bed on...in hindsight I wish I had done it when my truck was a rolling chassis and it would have been much easier.

I do not know anything about aftermarket wheel/tire combos. I run stock 15" steelies or rallies and there are no back-spacing issues or concerns with tire size...they just fit

Others will be able to help you out on wheel/tire combos.

to answer your question my truck is bagged without a c notch, do i wish i had? yes however at the time it wasnt going to happen, here is a pic of my truck with 29" tall tires air'd out this is also prior to moving my exhaust that might give it another 1-2"
