to trade or not to trade?

I found a decent 69 chevy lwb on craigslist that the owner drives daily. He is looking to trade for a daily driver that has room enough for a car seat or sell for $3000. I have a 2001 chevy silverado extended cab daily driver with 220,000 miles along with body damage on the drivers side due to a hit and run. My truck is close to the end of its usefulness and prob worth $2000 if i got lucky. His truck is stated to have a rebuilt 350 with 25k miles and 10k mile overdrive tranny. swapped to 5 lug w/disk brakes, with rust in drivers rocker and a serious dent in drivers door. He is getting pretty serious about trading now what do you guys think? questions or concerns i should think about. i am not new to these trucks and have bought a few but never to use as a daily driver. and i have a few parts at my disposal.

Re: to trade or not to trade?

I would not hesitate, as you said your truck is at the end of its usefullness.. either way the 69 is going up in value and your 01 is dropping quickly.. Go for it!!

I would do it in a "heartbeat." Really, though, the only opinion that should matter is yours. Don't worry about the trivial "whose truck is worth more, am I getting a good deal?" questions. Rather, "Is this what I want?" If you love old Chevy trucks, it should be an easy decision.
