fuel gauge problem
Hey, my fuel gauge is pretty much useless at the moment. I bought a used rebuilt gauge cluster a while back and a mechanic friend of mine thought that on the back of the original circuit board he saw a resistor that my "new" rebuilt unit did not have. I told him I thought he was nuts, but stranger things have happened in this build! Any advice would be appreciated. The sending unit is grounded and does register but from memory of when it was run last it is pointing down. Waiting on my new tires and wheels and hope to get pics of the finished product soon. Thanks.

Re: fuel gauge problem
First step would be to test the ohm reading on the wire that plugs into the fuse panel. It should read 0 to 90 ohms. I don't understand what you mean by the sending unit is pointing down.

Re: fuel gauge problem
Sorry, JimK, I mean the dash gauge is pointing down when there is power.
